Chemical Structure : SM15
Catalog No.: PC-27735Not For Human Use, Lab Use Only.
SM15 is a small molecule targeting microtubule-Hec1 interaction, inhibits cancer cell growth through microtubule stabilization, binds the MT surface independently from Hec1 and acts as a stabilizer of both microtubules (MTs) and kinetochore (KT)-microtubule (MT) interactions.

SM15 shows IC50 of 6.0 uM in HeLa cells.
SM15 binds to MTs with a higher affinity with respect to tubulin dimers (KD=0.94 uM and 1.80 uM, respectively).
SM15 induces arrested HeLa cells in the G2/M phases of the cell cycle efficiently.
SM15 induces cell death in tumor cell lines both by mitotic catastrophe and by apoptotic cell death directly from interphase.
SM15 (10 mg/kg) exerts anti-tumor activity, inhibits HeLa tumor growth in vivo.
