Tubacin is a potent, selective inhibitor of class II histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) with IC50 of 4 nM, displays> 300-fold selectivity against all other HDAC isoforms.
Tubacin induces α-tubulin hyperacetylation at 2.5 μM in primary cortical neuron cultures, inhibits proteasome and aggresome function induces synergistic antitumor activity in multiple myeloma.
Tubacin also suppresses proliferation and induces apoptosis of AML cells.
