Biological Activity

UM101 is a specific, noncatalytic, substrate-selective p38α MAPK inhibitor, targest the ED substrate-docking site and exerts anti-inflammatory effects.
UM101 inhibits expression of all SB203580-inhibited genes except TNFSF9, and inhibits four SB203580-insensitive genes, IL-1β, CXCL1, TNFSF15, and CCL5, in human THP1 promonocytes.
UM101 inhibits only 28 of 61 SB203580-inhibited genes and 7 of 15 SB203580-inhibited transcription factors, but spared the anti-inflammatory MSK1/2 pathway.
