VERU-111 (Sabizabulin, ABI-231) is an oral cytoskeleton disruptor that targets and inhibits microtubules to disrupt androgen receptor transport into the nucleus, shows broad antiviral activity by disrupting the intracellular transport of viruses such as SARS CoV-2.
VERU-111 (Sabizabulin, VERU111) inhibits cell viability of human melanoma cell lines (A375, M14, and RPMI7951) with IC50 of 5-10 nM.
Sabizabulin was tested in a Phase 1b/2 clinical study in men with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), as well as COVID-19 infection.
