XAV939 is a potent small molecule inhibitor of Tankyrases with IC50 of 5 nM and 2 nM for TNKS1 and TNKS2, respectively, selectively inhibits beta-catenin-mediated transcription.
XAV939 stimulates beta-catenin degradation by stabilizing axin.
XAV939 stabilize Axin2 levels in oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OLPs) from brain and spinal cord and accelerated their differentiation and myelination after hypoxic and demyelinating injury.
XAV939 increases Axin1 and Axin2 protein levels and attenuates Wnt-induced transcriptional responses in several breast cancer lines.
XAV939 attenuates Wnt3a induced cell migration in MDA-MB-231 cells.
XAV939 is an inhibitor of canonical WNT signalling.
