ZHAWOC21026 is a highly potent, host-specific small-molecule inhibitor of paramyxovirus (Canine distemper virus, CDV IC50=3.2 nM) and pneumovirus (RSV, IC50=31 nM) replication.
ZHAWOC21026 demonstrated highly potent inhibitory activity against A75/17-CDV, PIV-5, RSV, and NiV in corresponding cells (IC50<80 nM).
ZHAWOC21026 inhibits the replication via the RdRp complex but, however in a host-directed manner, which in turn prohibits the emergence of resistant mutants.
