Zinc pyrithione (Zn-Pyrithione, ZnPy) is an antifungal and antibacterial agent disrupting membrane transport by blocking the proton pump, potentiates potassium currents induced by KCNQ homomultimers, show agonistic activity for KCNQ channels, potently activates both heterologous and native M channels by inducing channel opening at the resting potential, also is a copper ionophore.
