mPGES-1 inhibitor Compound III is a selective murine/human microsomal prostaglandin E synthase-1 (mPGES-1) inhibitor with IC50 of 0.9/0.09 uM respectively. Compound III does not inhibit COX-1, COX-2, PGIS or H-PGDS and up to 50 μM. Compound III (0.1-10 μM) inhibits PGE2 synthesis in cultured A549 cells. Compound III (20 uM) inhibits PGE2 synthesis in human whole blood and isolated platelets. Compound III (10-100 mg/kg) inhibits PGE2 synthesis in the mouse air pouch model of inflammation.
