slCeMM1 is a potent, highly selective inhibitor of lactate transporter SLC16A3 (MCT4), inhibits intracellular lactate accumulation in SLC16A3 dependent cells (IC50=91 nM).
slCeMM1 displays no effec on intracellular lactate accumulationt in cells dependent on SLC16A1.
slCeMM1 inhibits growth of HAP1 cells dependent on SLC16A3 (IC50 = 0.88 μM), but not on SLC16A1, SLC16A7 or SLC16A8, and this effect was rescued by re-introduction of SLC16A1WT but not transport-deficient mutant SLC16A1R313Q.
slCeMM1 is a valuable additional tool that helps to chemically validate SLC16A3 as a target based on experiments with gene knock-out/knock-down strategies.
