(±)VK4-40 is a highly selective and metabolically stable D3 partial agonist, shows high affinity for D3 receptor (Ki=0.35 nM) and high selectivity for D3 over the D2 receptor.
(±)VK4‐40 inhibits cocaine self‐administration andcocaine‐primed reinstatement of drug seeking but does not inhibit sucrose self‐administration.
(±)VK4‐40 also inhibits optogenetic brain‐stimulation reward and cocaine‐enhanced brain‐stimulation reward.
