Biological Activity

8-prenylnaringenin (8PN) is a prenylflavonoid isolated from hop cones Humulus lupulus with cytotoxicity, is a small molecule inhibitor of CUB domain‐containing protein 1 (CDCP1)and reduces CDCP1 protein levels in cancer cells.
8-prenylnaringenin has anti-proliferative activity against HCT-116 colon cancer cells via induction of intrinsic and extrinsic pathway-mediated apoptosis.
8-Prenylnaringenin also promotes recovery from immobilization-induced disuse muscle atrophy through activation of the Akt phosphorylation pathway in mice.
8-Prenylnaringenin causes the accumulation of lung cancer cells in G0/G1 phase.
Combination therapy effectively reduced tumor growth and enhanced tumor necrosis in tumor xenograft mice models.
8PN increases interleukin (IL)6 and IL8 expression, induces neutrophil infiltration, and enhances neutrophil‐mediated cytotoxicity to attenuate lung cancer cell growth.
