Biological Activity

AGN-195183 (VTP-195183;NRX-195183, IRX-5183) is a potent, selective RARα agonist with binding Kd of 3 nM.
AGN-195183 significantly reduces albuminuria and normalizes blood pressure, lowers glomerulosclerosis index, glomerular cell and interstitial cell counts, and area of the interstitial space in nephritic rats.
AGN-195183 reduces renal damage in rats with established chronic glomerulonephritis.
