AP736 is a damantyl benzylbenzamide derivative with anti-melanogenic effects in melanocytes in vitro, acts via the downregulation of tyrosinase, TRP-1 and MITF expression.
AP736 inhibits key melanogenic enzymes and the suppression of PKA-CREB signaling pathway.
AP736 markedly inhibits intracellular tyrosinase activity in the α-MSH-stimulated B16F10 melanoma cells.
AP736 does not directly inhibit tyrosinase activity.
AP736 induces GSK3β phosphorylation and reduces the MITF protein level.
