APOD53 is a specific, covalent cyclic peptide binder / inhibitor of TRF2 TRFH domain, prevents recruitment of RTEL1 and SLX4 to TRF2 in cells, impairs cancer cell growth.
APOD53 specfically binds to TRF2 Cys160.
APOD53 induces telomeric dysfunction and alter ALT-associated phenotypes, also increases the total intensity of phosphorylated H2AX (γH2AX) in both HeLa and U-2 OS cells, indicative of a wider DDR.
APOD53 does not induce NHEJ-associated telomere fusions.
Co-treatment with APOD53 and G4 stabilizer RHPS4 results in enhanced replication stress at the telomere.
