ATWLPPR peptide (A7R, Ala-Thr-Trp-Leu-Pro-Pro-Arg) is a specific heptapeptide NRP-1 (Neuropilin 1, NRP1) inhibitor and effective antagonist of the VEGF165 binding to NRP-1 with IC50 of 5.9 uM blocks vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-mediated angiogenesis.

ATWLPPR completely abolished VEGF binding to cell-displayed kinase domain receptor (KDR/FLK1 or VEGFR-2).
ATWLPPR inhibits VEGF-mediated proliferation of human vascular endothelial cells, in a dose-dependent and endothelial cell type-specific manner.
ATWLPPR totally abolishes VEGF-induced angiogenesis in a rabbit corneal model.
