BIO922 (BIO 922, BIO-922) is a small molecule PICK1 inhibitor that specificly blocks the PDZ domain-mediated interaction between GluA2 and PICK1 (IC50=69 nM), blocks the effects of Aβ on synaptic transmission and surface receptors.
BIO922 shows >100-fold selectivity over other related PDZ domain-containing proteins, namely PSD-95 and GRIP.
BIO922 stabilizes surface GluA2 and attenuates Aβ-mediated increase in intracellular calcium concentration in cultured hippocampal neurons.
