Bardoxolone methyl (CDDO-Me, RTA402) is a potent activator of Nrf2, inhibits proliferation, induces differentiation and apoptosis in AML cells.
CDDO Methyl ester induces rapid apoptosis (IC50=0.1-0.3 uM) and triggers a series of effects associated with apoptosis including a rapid release of cytochrome c from mitochondria, activation of procaspase-9, -7, -6, and -3, and cleavage of PARP and lamin A/C in NSCLC cells.
CDDO Methyl ester also demonstrates potent antidiabetic activity, reducing proinflammatory cytokine expression in high fat diet-fed type 2 diabetic mice.
