Butylphthalide (3-n-Butylphthalide, NBP) is an active molecule against cerebral ischemia, shows neuroprotective activity for acute ischemic stroke. Butylphthalide inhibits ferroptosis and ameliorates cerebral Ischaemia-Reperfusion injury in rats by activating the Nrf2/HO-1 signalling pathway. Butylphthalide attenuates cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in mice through AMPK-mediated mitochondrial fusion. Butylphthalide improves stroke outcomes after focal ischemic stroke in mouse model by inhibiting the pyroptosis-regulated cell death and ameliorating neuroinflammation.
