CVM-2-12-2 is a selective and potent inhibitor of the envelope (E) protein of dengue virus (DENV), demonstrates potent antiviral activity.
CVM-2-12-2 engages Thr48, with a binding pose similar to that of GNF-2, while forming a key hydrogen-bonding interaction with Gln271.
CVM-2-12-2 caused a reduction of E at 5 and 10 μM concentrations due the antiviral activity it exerts on E-mediated fusion during viral entry.
