Cazpaullone (9-Cyano-1-azapaullone) is a derivative of 1-Azakenpaullone, a potent, selective GSK3β inhibitor with IC50 of 8 nM, weakly inhibits CDK1/cyclin B and CDK5/p25 (IC50=0.5 and 0.3 uM); stimulates INS-1E beta cell replication and protects INS-1E cells against glucolipotoxicity induced cell death, also stimulates the replication of primary beta cells in isolated rat islets.
