Biological Activity
DC-174 is a potent broad-spectrum snake venom metalloproteinases (SVMPs) inhibitor with enzymetic EC50 of 4.7 nM for ERO (E. romani) SVMP.
DC-174 shows broad-spectrum potent inhibition of SVMP activity (4.7–38.6 nM EC50s), inhibition of procoagulant venom activity (13.4 and 135.0 nM EC50s in B. jararaca and E. romani, respectively).
DC-174 reduces SVMP isoform-mediated cleavage of clotting factors and venom-induced coagulopathy and protects against lethality and hemorrhage in a chicken embryo model of envenoming.
DC-174 prolongs survival in a murine preclinical model of severe envenoming.
