Biological Activity

Dioctatin is a small molecule inhibitor of aflatoxin production of Aspergillus flavus, binds to and activates mitochondrial protease ClpP of A. flavus and Escherichia coli.
Dioctatin inhibits aflatoxin B1 production of A. flavus IFM 47798 strain with IC50 of 23.9 uM.
Dioctatin-bound ClpP selectively degrades mitochondrial energy-related proteins.
Dioctatin reduces TCA cycle metabolites and raises glycolysis and ethanol production.
Dioctatin reduces acetylated histone and expression of aflatoxin biosynthetic genes.
