E260 is a novel inhibitor of the Fer/FerT kinase with Kd of 0.85 uM, selectively evokes metabolic stress and necrotic death in cancer cells.
E260 compromises mitochondrial integrity, and activates PARP-1 and autophagy, thereby targeting the energy management system of cancer cells.
E260 exhibits an viability EC50 of 400 nM after 24 h of treatment and an EC50 of 300 nM after 48 h in metastatic SW620 cells.
E260 suppresses xenografts progression in vivo.
