Biological Activity

Endochin is an antimalarial agent, inhibits T. gondii growth in vitro (IC50=0.003 nM), inhibits inhibited T.gondii cytochrome c reduction with IC50 of 8.2 nM.
Endochin and is effective against acute and latent toxoplasmosis in mice.
Endochin is highly active against the cyst form of T. gondii in mice at low doses, reducing cyst burden by 76-88% after 16 d of treatment.
