GPRP acetate (Pefabloc FG) is a peptide corresponding partly to the amino terminus of the Aα chain and Bβ chain of fibrin, inhibits the spontaneous polymerization of fibrin monomers.
GPRP acetate also inhibits ADP-induced platelet aggregation with IC50 of 3 mM.
GPRP acetate binds to the fibrinogen D domain, and inhibits the ability of fibrinogen to bind to the platelet membrane glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa.
