CNP7 is a potent, selective, covalent HMG-CoA synthase 1 (HMGCS1) inhibitor, reduces HMG-CoA levels and global protein prenylation.
CNP7 engages the catalytic cysteine Cys129 within HMGCS1′s hydrophobic pocket.
CNP7 (5 uM) reduces cellular HMG-CoA levels and global protein prenylation in HCT116 cells.
CNP7 (5 uM) inhibits cell proliferation by disrupting geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate metabolism in HCT116 cells.
