Biological Activity
HYOU1 inhibitor 33 is a first-in-class inhibitor for Hypoxia up-regulated protein 1 (HYOU1, GRP170/ORP150), decreases significantly the levels of the cytokine Interleukin 6 (IL-6) in LPS (10 ng/mL)-treated WT-MΦs with IC50 of 2.57 uM.
HYOU1 inhibitor 33 downregulates the expression of Mmp3 and Bmp2 genes, both being highly upregulated in activated fibroblasts promoting chronic inflammation and fibrosis.
HYOU1 inhibitor 33 inhibits multiple pathways found activated in pathogenic fibroblasts, including extracellular matrisome alteration, TNFsignaling, cytokine/chemokine production and collagen fibril organization.
