IDE inhibitor Ii1 (IDE inhibitor 1) is a potent, selective inhibitor of insulin degrading enzyme (IDE) with Ki of 1.7 nM.
Ii1 exhibits a purely competitive mode of inhibition of the hydrolysis of insulin and Aβ.
Ii1 shows remarkably selective for IDE versus a wide range of conventional zinc-metalloproteases and representative members of other protease classes.
Ii1 inhibits the degradation of extracellular insulin dose-dependently, with IC50 of ~10 nM, in CHO cells overexpressing the human insulin receptor (IR).
