JC-229 is a small-molecule inhibitor that selectively blocks DNA-binding by Trypanosoma brucei replication protein A1 (TbRPA1), exhibits growth inhibition of T. brucei with EC50 of 6.6 uM.

JC-229 is a small-molecule inhibitor that selectively blocks DNA-binding by Trypanosoma brucei replication protein A1 (TbRPA1), exhibits growth inhibition of T. brucei with EC50 of 6.6 uM.
JC-229 (10 uM) resembles TbRPA1 depletion and has higher toxicity against T. brucei than to human cells.
JC-229 exhibited EC50 values of 6.5 µM, 18.4 µM, and 32.1 µM for T. brucei, HEK293, and HeLa, respectively.
JC-229 specifically inhibits the ssDNA-binding activity of TbRPA, strongly inhibited the binding activity of TbDBD-AB and the TbRPA complex with IC50 of 228 and 24.5 nM.
