JC19 is a a cysteine-reactive small molecule degrader of SARS-CoV-2 nsp14 with DC50 of 8.7 uM in HEK293T cells.
JC19-induced nsp14 depletion is independent of canonical cell death pathways and electrophile sensing machinery.
JC19 effects degradation through direct modification of cysteines in both nsp14 and in host chaperones together with activation of global cell stress response pathways.
