JWG-071 is a selective ERK5 inhibitor (IC50<20 nM) with reduced Brd4/BET inhibitory activity.
JWG-071 does not suppress the Brd4 target gene c-Myc, unlike XMD8-85.
JWG-071 inhibits Erk5-dependent c-Myc phosphorylation and degradation, specific Erk5 inhibition drives Dnmt3b expression.
