KM04794 (KM-04794) is a chemical chaperone-like small molecule modulator of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) proteostasis and alleviates ER stress, inhibits UPR signaling with IC50 of 10 uM.
KM04794 accumulates in the ER and directly interacts amd binds to with the ER molecular chaperone BiP, KM04794 inhibits the aggregation of GAPDH in cooperation with BiP.
KM04794 suppresses Tm-induced phosphorylation of IRE1 and PERK and induction of XBP1 and
ATF4 in the MIN6m9 pancreatic β cell line.
KM04794 suppresses UPR activation induced by brefeldin A.
KM04794 alleviates ER protein aggregation and ER stress-induced cell death, and mutant insulin-induced ER stress.
KM04794 increases intracellular and secreted insulin levels in pancreatic β cells.
