Biological Activity

A ruthenium complex anticancer agent that is useful for metastatic tumors and cis-platin resistant tumors; dose dependently inhibites ATPase activity of P-glycoprotein (P-gp) with Ki of 31 uM; potently blocks P-glycoprotein-mediated rhodamine 123 efflux under serum-free conditions (EC50=8 uM); induces DNA damage, leading to cell cycle delay and cell death in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
