Biological Activity
KRH102053 is a potent activator of HIF prolyl hydroxylase 2 (PHD2), induces downregulation of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α protein.
KRH102053 exhibits inhibitory effect on the levels of HIF-1α protein in human HOS osteosarcoma, HepG2 hepatoma cells and rat PC12 phaeochromocytoma cells.
KRH102053 (20 uM) significantly decreased the transcriptional activity of HIF-1α under hypoxia, reduced the levels of VEGF protein and mRNA in HOS cells in a concentration-dependent manner.
KRH102053 inhibited rates of migration and invasion or the mRNA levels of genes involved in metastasis in HOS cells under hypoxia.
