Leptomycin B (CI 940, Elactocin, Mantuamycin) is a potent and specific nuclear export inhibitor that binds to and inhibits CRM1 (XPO1).
Leptomycin B blocks the cell cycle and shows potent anti-tumor activity.
Leptomycin B blocks the nuclear export of many proteins including HIV-1 Rev, MAPK/ERK, and NF-κB/IκB, and inhibits the inactivation of p53.
