MCU-i11 is a specific MICU1 targeting compound that negative modulate mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake.
MCU-i11 directly binds a specific cleft in MICU1 (Kd=2.9 uM), a key element of the mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU) complex that controls channel gating.
MCU-i11 effectively inhibited mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake at 5 uM, impair muscle cell growth.
