MMP-12 inhibitor 9 is a potent selective MMP-12 inhibitor with IC50 of 177 nM, displays anti-inflammatory activity in vitro and in vivo.
MMP-12 inhibitor 9 is poorly potent against MMP-1, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-9, MMP-10, and MMP-13 (IC50>50 uM), displays slightly better inhibitory activity towards MMP-2, MMP-8, and MMP-14 (IC50=2-50 uM).
MMP-12 inhibitor 9 displayed significantly lower lipopolysaccharide- (LPS-) induced lethality compared to vehicle treated controls C57BL/6 mice.
C57BL/6 mice attenuated LPS-induced decrease in tight junction permeability of primary choroid plexus epithelial cells in vitro.
