MMP408 (MMP 408) is a potent, selective matrix metalloprotease 12 (MMP-12) inhibitor with IC50 of 2.0 nM (human MMP-12), 60-fold selectivity over MMP-13.
MMP408 has lower potency in rodent MMP-12 (80- and 160-fold less active for mouse and rat, respectively).
MMP408 displays a good selectivity profile (>500-fold) over other human MMPs (MMP-1, 3, 7, 9, 14, and TACE, Agg-1, Agg-2).
MMP408 (5 mg/kg, b.i.d. po) attenuates pulmonary inflammation in rhMMP-12 induced lung inflammation model.
