Malaria Proteasome Inhibitor-1 (MPI-1) is a potent, covalent, reversible P. falciparum 20S proteasome (Pf20S) inhibitor with IC50 of 160 nM, 154 nM and 28 nM for Pf20S β5, Hs20S β5c and Hs20S β5i respectively, exhibits fast-acting antimalarial activity with LD50 of 55 nM for Pf 3D7 strain.
