Biological Activity

Minnelide is a water-soluble prodrug of triptolide, an inhibitor of RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription, also is a selective inhibitor of CIC::DUX4 sarcoma (CDS).
Minnelide acts through xeroderma pigmentosum type B to alter phosphorylation of RPB1, the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II, induces RPB1 degradation leading to apoptosis of CDS cells.
Minnelide is highly effective in reducing pancreatic tumor growth and spread, and improving survival, induces and promotes apoptosis.
Minnelide efficiently downregulates both CD133(-) and CD133(+) population in the tumors, resulting in a 60% decrease in tumor volume.
Minnelide also is very effective as a therapeutic option against Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer (CRPC).
