Biological Activity

Motugivatrep (SJP-0132) is a potent, selective transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) antagonist, inhibits capsaicin-stimulated TRPV1 across multiple species with IC50 of 0.46-2.1 nM.

Motugivatrep exhibits weak inhibition of human TRPV4, and has no significant effects on TRPV3, TRPA1, or TRPM8.

Motugivatrep also shows minimal binding to 5-HT2A and 5-HT2B receptors.

Motugivatrep suppresses capsaicin-induced intracellular Ca2+ influx in DRG cells with IC50 of 2.8 nM.

Motugivatrep shows potential for disorders associated with TRPV1 activation, such as dry eye disease (DED).
