Nobiletin is an O-methylated flavone that has the activity to rescue bulbectomy-induced memory impairment, also is a clock modulator that targets RORα/γ.
Nobiletin induces neurite outgrowth of PC12D cells, causes a concentration-dependent enhancement of Erk/MAP kinase phosphorylation and a sustained increment of phosphorylation of MEK and Erk/MAP kinase.
Nobiletin also preferentially inhibits Ca2+/CaM-dependent phosphodiesterase in vitro.
Nobiletin enhances the clock and concordantly renders protection against metabolic syndrome in a Clock gene-dependent manner, enhances RORα/γ transcriptional activity via direct binding to RORα/γ.
