ABCA1 inducer Cpd G (Cpd G) is a small molecule inducer of ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux that targets Oxysterol Binding Protein Like 7 (OSBPL7).
Cpd G displays little to no binding affinity to the CB1R (Ki>1 uM).
Cpd G increases plasma membrane ABCA1 in cultured human podocytes, and significantly increases ABCA1-dependent cholesterol efflux at 10 uM.
Cpd G significantly increased apoAI-mediated cholesterol efflux at 10 uM.
Cpd G (100 mg/Kg) protects from kidney injury in a mouse model of adriamycin-induced nephropathy.
Cpd G protects from renal injury in the mouse model of Alport syndrome.
Cpd G reduced accumulation of cholesterol esters in renal cortex in both disease models.
