Olvanil (NE-19550, N-Vanillyloleamide) is a potent, selective agonist of transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1 (TRPV1) channels with EC50 of 0.7 nM. Olvanil inhibited [(3)H]Resiniferatoxin (RTX) binding to HEK293/VR1 cells with Ki of 0.4 uM. Olvanil desensitizes nociceptors and alleviates pain.
