Ophiobolin A (OphA) is a potent, covalent calmodulin (CaM) inhibitor, with broad toxicity against plants, microbes, and cancer cells, OphA also is a K-Ras4B but not an H-Ras selective inhibitor.
OphA disrupts membrane organization of K-Ras in a CaM-dependent manner and blocked the growth of cancer stem cell enriched spheroids derived from breast cancer cell lines.
