Biological Activity

PKC agonist C-233 is a selective PKC-ε agonist with EC50 of 240 nM, has 196-fold selectivity over PKC-δ and 5-6 fold over PKC-η and PKC-θ.
induced cytokines associated with PKC activation, consistent with expression of PKC-ε in T cells.
C-233 shows improved potency for T cells in vitro and induces HIV activation ex vivo.
C-233 strongly activated CD69 expression (EC50 = 99 nM) in CD4+ T cells isolated from people with HIV receiving ART.
C-233 shows greater activity in T cells than in platelets, and the ability to activate HIV RNA and p24 expression.
