Biological Activity

Pitstops 2c is a next-generation small molecule inhibitors of clathrin function (IC50=13 uM, inhibition of transferrin), inhibits crlathrin-mediated endocytosis.
Pitstops 2c does not affect the nuclear permeability barrier and exhibits low cytotoxicity.
Pitstops 2c displaces amphiphysin from the clathrin TD in vitro with IC50 of 1.8 uM.
Pitstops 2c inhibits VSV entry into Vero-E6 cells.
Pitstops 2c does not impair clathrin-independent endocytosis of dextran.
Pitstops 2c inhibits early stages of CME by displacing epsins from clathrin.
