Biological Activity

Pitstops 2d is a next-generation small molecule inhibitors of clathrin function (IC50=13 uM, inhibition of transferrin), inhibits crlathrin-mediated endocytosis.
Pitstops 2d does not affect the nuclear permeability barrier and exhibits low cytotoxicity.
Pitstops 2d displaces amphiphysin from the clathrin TD in vitro with IC50 of 1.7 uM.
Pitstops 2d inhibits VSV entry into Vero-E6 cells.
Pitstops 2d does not impair clathrin-independent endocytosis of dextran.
Pitstops 2d inhibits early stages of CME by displacing epsins from clathrin.
