Biological Activity

Profilin-1 inhibitor UP-6 is a specific small molecule inhibitor of actin-binding protein profilin-1 (Pfn1), inhibits Pfn1-actin interaction and shows potent anti-angiogenic activity in vitro and in vivo.
UP-6 effectively inhibits cord formation of endothelial cells (ECs) with IC50 of 10 uM, has a more potent anti-angiogenic activity than C74.
UP-6 (200 uM) exhibited anti-angiogenesis in C57/Bl6 mice, significantly reduced EC infiltration into the plugs.
