SB1501 (SB 1501) is a bioactive compound that reduces fat accumulation by elevating mitochondrial biogenesis and fatty acid oxidation via the PGC-1α-UCP1 pathway, shows anti-obesity effects in vivo.
SB1501 (40 μM) reduces the size and fat accumulation of lipid droplets (LDs) in 3T3-L1 adipocytes.
SB1501 increases mitochondrial biogenesis and fatty acid oxidation (FAO) with upregulation of PGC-1α-UCP1 regulatory axis, which leads to reduced fat accumulation and demand for lipid storage capacity in 3T3-L1 adipocyte.
SB1501 increases mitochondrial function and morphology in 3T3-L1 adipocytes.
SB1501 (10 mg/kg, 5 weeks, oral) exhibits anti-obesity effects in a db/db mouse model.
SB1501 significantly increased the mRNA levels of Pgc-1α and Ucp1 in inguinal white adipose tissue.
